How do I cancel a customer’s subscription?

⚠️ Warning: Once a subscription is canceled, it cannot be undone and a new subscription order will need to be created.

Within the Smartrr app, navigate to Subscriptions in the left-hand menu. You can quickly search for the customer’s subscription by email, name or subscription ID.


 

Once you’ve located the subscription you’d like to manage, click on the three dots on the far right-hand side of the page, then click View Subscription Details.

 


In the upper right-hand corner click Cancel subscription. Confirm again by clicking Yes.


If your email “Subscription Canceled” is toggled ON in Customer Notifications, your customer will be notified of the subscription order cancelation via email. 



💡 Tip: Canceled subscriptions are always permanently suspended due to Shopify’s rules around re-authorizing payment methods. However, paused subscriptions can always be resumed.
